Chocolate Peanut Butter Bonbons

1 ¼ c peanut butter (smooth or chunky)

1 c confectioners sugar

2 T butter

¾ c semi-sweet chocolate chips (Ghiradelli)


In a large mixing bowl, mix peanut butter, confectioners sugar and melted butter until mixture is crumbly.

Line a baking sheet with waxed paper.

Roll peanut butter filling into 1” balls.

Place balls in freezer for 5-10 minutes (this step will make coating with chocolate much easier)

Fill a sauce pan 1/3 full of water and bring to a small boil.

Place chocolate in a metal bowl and place bowl over boiling water (the steam of the water below will melt the chocolate)

Take peanut butter balls out of freezer.

Insert a toothpick into each peanut butter ball and then dip them into melted chocolate.

Cover with chocolate as best and return chocolate covered bonbon to the lined baking sheet.

Return to refrigerator for 30 minutes.


Put enough chocolate into bottom of bonbon cup to cover bottom. Top with peanut butter ball, then cover with remaining chocolate mixture. Chill.
