In order to seal in crumbs, run a thin layer of frosting over the entire cake and set in the refrigerator til firm. Then you can frost the final coat and not worry about crumbs. Recommend using a separate bowl of frosting for the crumb coat, so the crumbs don’t get into the final coat frosting.
