Problem: Using satin ice and a deep cut blade set from 160-185 and it tears and sticks to the blade.
Answer 1: Use a little corn starch and allow it to dry so there is a slight hard layer on the top. Also make sure your blade is clean before use.
Answer 2: The fondant is either too sticky or too thick. The fondant should be an even thickness of 1/8″–almost see through. One idea is to put it in the freezer for about 10 minutes. Tylose powder mixed into the fondant can also help make it drier.
