How Not to: Fondant Sugar Cookies

Pretty? Lots of work, but they did turn out cute for my first try. Here’s what I discovered:

  1. I put simple sugar between the cookie and fondant layers to “glue them together”, between the two fondant layers, and then over the top of the last fondant layer to add gloss. I put them in the refrigerator. The gloss dried on everything except the flowers.
  2. The flowers started to bleed in the humidity even after just a few minutes.

What would I change? I would like to find a fondant recipe that has amazing flavor. This fondant had too much of a powdered sugar taste.
