Frosting Craters

Q: When I attempt raised letters or objects on my cookies, I end up with craters. Should I make the letter or object ahead of time and after it’s dry, place it on wet flood or piping directly onto cookie?  Question shared by: Kaye Smith, FB Group Crying Over Cookies.

A: Pipe and flood your base, let dry for a couple hours then immediately pipe your letter on top. If you let the base dry overnight, it will suck the moisture from your wet layer causing cratering.

Example, I flooded cookie with white frosting, let it dry for 1.5 hours, and then piped the number. I put in front of a fan immediately after piped. Answer shared by: Jackie Arena, FB Group Crying Over Cookies.
